Seroprevalence and clinical profile of scrub typhus in patients presenting with undifferentiated acute febrile illness in a tertiary care centre

Background: Scrub typhus (ST) is a common Rickettsial infection which has been increasingly reported from the various states of southern part India.
 Aims and Objective: With very few reports Central Kerala, we aimed to study seroprevalence scrub its clinical profile.
 Materials Methods: Patients presenting with acute undifferentiated febrile illness other symptoms signs infections during period two years were included in this prospective study. Serodiagnosis ST was based on positive IgM Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) and/or agglutination for OXK Weil Felix test. The cut-off ELISA calculated. laboratory details patients obtained bivariate analysis performed.
 Results: calculated found be 0.38. Of 636 samples screened, 34 (5.3%) ELISA. Out samples, only 5 (0.8%) by Most presented months May January. Rashes observed 8.8% none had eschar. commonest features fever, myalgia (52.9%), nausea & vomiting (32.4%), headache (29.4%) hepatosplenomegaly (29.4%). abnormal finding complication elevated serum transaminases (52.9%) respiratory distress syndrome (17.6%) respectively.
 Conclusion: Kerala 5.3% using test
